How to Care for Your Outdoor Jasminum Grandiflorum
☀️ Light
-
Prefers full sunlight to partial shade for healthy growth and abundant flowering.
-
Provide around 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
-
Adequate sunlight encourages vigorous growth and promotes flower production during the growing season.
-
During extreme UAE summer heat, provide some afternoon shade to protect the foliage and flowers from excessive heat stress.
💧 Water
-
Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry.
-
Requires regular, moderate watering to maintain healthy growth and encourage flowering.
-
Increase watering frequency during hot summer months, depending on soil moisture and weather conditions.
-
Avoid excessive watering and waterlogged soil, which may cause root problems.
-
Ensure the soil has good drainage to support healthy root development.
🌡️ Temperature
-
Thrives in warm climates, with ideal growing temperatures of approximately 18–30°C.
-
Well suited to the UAE's outdoor climate with proper watering and protection from extreme summer heat.
-
Can tolerate higher temperatures when provided with sufficient moisture and partial afternoon shade.
-
Protect from frost and prolonged exposure to unusually cold temperatures.
💦 Humidity
-
Prefers moderate humidity but can adapt to various outdoor humidity levels.
-
Normal outdoor humidity is generally sufficient for healthy growth.
-
During extremely hot and dry conditions, maintain adequate soil moisture to prevent excessive stress.
-
Good air circulation helps maintain healthy foliage and reduces the risk of fungal diseases.
🌸 Fertilizer
-
Apply a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during active growth and flowering, following the product instructions.
-
Proper feeding encourages healthy green foliage, strong root development, and abundant fragrant blooms.
-
Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization, as it may encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
-
Reduce fertilizer application during periods of extreme heat or slow growth.
